FAQ For Applicants
01
WHO CAN COMPETE?

Any one in a team of three, from the same institution can register! The teams can be from across disciplines, and levels of study (undergraduate, masters, postgraduate).

02
WHAT IS THE THEME?
“Climate change, biodiversity, and the developing world.” A bit broad, no? That's the point. Familiarise yourself with the issues facing the world, and tackle problems that are meaningful to you.
03
WHAT DOES THE REPORT LOOK LIKE?
There are no specific rules for the report beyond basic formatting! All reports should be 10-15 pages long, using a 12 size Serif font. There should be a sense of an introduction, main section and a conclusion. How this is formatted, or considered, depends on the discipline of the research or theme.
04
DOES THE REPORT HAVE TO CONSIDER BRITAIN AND FRANCE?
No! The theme invites considerations on global issues, and encourages interdisciplinary approaches to them. The importance of French and British relations lies in the institutions invited to participate.
05
DO COVER PAGES, TABLE OF CONTENTS, APPENDIXES AND BIBLIOGRAPHIES COUNT TOWARDS THE PAGE NUMBER?
No! The 15-page limit covers only everything contained within the main body of the report. Supplementary material that comes before or after the report is not counted in this page limit.
06
IS THERE A STANDARD REFERENCING STYLE?

As the reports cover a broad range of disciplines, there is no set referencing style stipulated by the Challenge. Instead, teams should select the referencing style most appropriate to their particular discipline, such that it may be easily understood by an expert within that field.
